Job descriptionPurchasing Agent - Structural SteelPrecision Build seeks a professional that will be responsible for purchasing equipment, supplies, subcontractors and project materials. They will negotiate with vendors for competitive pricing and delivery schedules that meet production requirements and cost estimates. Duties include selecting and evaluating vendor performance based on cost, quality and timeliness of deliveries. They will utilize AISC guidelines and FSS QA/QC manuals, all while establishing and maintaining standard unit costs for raw materials, parts, rentals and subcontracts.Qualifications - Minimum experience of 2 years in purchasing of various industrial type supplies and manufactured components. - Type a minimum of 40 WPM. - Basic understanding of fabrication, manufacturing processes, bills of materials and blueprint reading. AISC/API and other related codes and specifications. - Working knowledge of computerized purchasing and inventory control techniques. - General understanding of basic accounting procedures, sales and use tax laws and subcontracts. - Excellent understanding of the company's business goals and objectives including understand and managing of cost and time on projects. - Complete understanding and adherence to safety standards. - Strong customer-service orientation toward internal and external partners. - Strong computer skills. - Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. - Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language. - Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail. - Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. - Experienced and comfortable in team-oriented, collaborative environments. - Able to assist in motivating and developing others. -Powered by JazzHR
