Job Description:
The Assistant State Attorney plays a pivotal role in the
prosecution of criminal cases ranging from minor offenses to
felonies. This position requires a dedicated and highly ethical
legal professional capable of working both independently and as
part of a broader legal team. The role includes the preparation and
litigation of criminal cases, advising law enforcement, and serving
as an advocate for the interests of the public in justice
proceedings. Prosecute a wide variety of criminal cases, including
jury and bench trials to verdict in state courts. Review and assess
law enforcement investigation reports and recommend initiation of
criminal charges or other appropriate actions. Prepare legal
documents, such as complaints, motions, and subpoenas. Advise law
enforcement agencies on legal issues related to investigations.
Negotiate plea agreements with defense attorneys. Participate in
continuing legal education and professional development. Maintain
high ethical standards and uphold the laws and regulations of the
justice system. Strong litigation and trial advocacy skills.
Excellent legal research and writing capabilities. Ability to
interpret and apply statutory language. Effective communication and
negotiation skills. Capability to work under pressure and meet
tight deadlines. Solid ethical judgement and integrity. Medical
