Established in 1978, Osgood Industries, Inc. was privately owned for more than 40 years and is well-known in the packaging industry. At this location, we design and manufacture packaging machines for food and a broad spectrum of products. In addition, we build complete line solutions and provide comprehensive after sales services. The facility includes engineering, manufacturing, assembly, R/testing lab, management, sales & marketing, administration and service.Job DescriptionSUMMARY: This person performs all activities related to the Parts Department. Responsible for providing quality and efficient customer service to internal and external customers through utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and procedures.Essential Functions:Supports sale of new or additional parts.Maintains customer database with change of address, contact name, contact number, etc. records.Responds to customer inquiries and provides solutions to their problems.Talks with customers to identify and determine make, year, and type of part(s) needed.Consults with customers and discusses use and features of various parts.Advises customer on substitution or modification of part when replacement is not available.Reads catalog, computer or ERP system for replacement part stock number and price.Prepares sales contract.Examines returned part to determine if worn, damaged, or defective part requires replacement or issues refund.Marks and stores parts in stockroom according to company's standard operating procedures.Provides feedback to the company regarding service failures or customer concerns.Reviews/processes requisitions of replacement parts and supplies.Monitors part deliveries for accuracy and "on-time" delivery.Monitors warranty items.Checks order postings for errors.Oversees shipment of parts to customer's location.Works with Documentation Department to update parts catalogs, manuals, and related documentation.Releases parts data and documentation to authorized department(s).Assists in determining adequate spare parts inventory requirements for customers.Addresses complaints concerning billing, referring complaints of service failures to Service Department.QualificationsBASIC REQUIREMENTS:Must possess a High School Diploma or GEDMust have at least 1+ years of experience working in a parts/manufacturing environmentPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including ability to communicate effectively to the intended audience.Excellent MS Office skills, specifically Word, and PowerPoint and Excel skillsPrevious ERP experience is a plusProblem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.Interpersonal Skills: Ability to lead change, with enthusiasm and a positive approach; Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming, complaining or making excuses; Maintains confidentiality; Listens to others without interrupting; Keeps emotions under control; Remains open to others' ideas and tries new things.Business Acumen: Understands business implications of decisions; Displays orientation to profitability and works within budgets.Self-Management: Demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles; Displays willingness to make decisions while exhibiting sound judgment and reasoning for decisions; Includes appropriate people in decision-making process; Makes timely decisions.
