It is our mission to continue providing reliable, customer-centric homeowners insurance to Florida residents and paying claims in a timely manner when our customers suffer a loss – and to do so with Integrity Summary: The position of Vice President, Accounting amd Financial Reporting is responsible for the day-to-day management of all financial operations of the business, as well as driving all corporate financial initiatives by closely interacting with the CEO, the Chairman, and the senior leadership team. The Vice President must have strong financial management and oversight skills and will manage a team of seven accounting professionals. Working closely with the leadership team, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing meaningful performance metrics coupled with the ability to quickly understand the implications of the company’s financial performance. Based upon those results and trends, the Vice President will recommend the appropriate actions to the leadership team. What You’ll Do You'll Report To: Executive Vice President You'll Be Responsible for: Enhancing financial reporting processes and systems to facilitate management decisions. Driving the accounting process and determine improvements to be made. Providing leadership and guidance to the business by supporting company efforts of revenue and earnings growth. Improving budgeting, reporting and controls, working to continually and consistently deliver a timely and accurate picture of the financial condition of the company. Preparing timely and accurate budgets and the reporting of those projections. Identifying key performance metrics and provide tracking and reporting of those metrics, helping to drive the growth of the company. Implementing and directing effective cash management strategy and provide risk management leadership for the business. Facilitating and building meaningful relationships with key stakeholders and influencers. Leading interactions and communications with external parties, including investors, auditors, banks, reinsurers, and regulators. Being a key member of the leadership team, setting the standard of performance for your direct reports, and the company as a whole. What You’ll Need to be a Top Candidate Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration or related field required; Master’s in Business Administration or related degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of ten years of accounting and/or finance experience in personal property insurance with substantial and progressively responsible roles. Must have experience managing a team in an accounting setting. Skills and Knowledge: Significant experience in both GAAP and statutory accounting techniques. Proven record of establishing, improving, and leading the day-to-day financial functions of an organization. Specific experience in creating annual statements (Yellow Book). Experience with cash management functions in an insurance environment. Solid experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting. Thorough knowledge of Florida personal residential insurance and processing principles, practices, and procedure. Professional and demonstrates high integrity. Excellent leadership and visionary skills. Ability to identify and exploit opportunities. Shifts focus or course of action when necessary; flexible. Resilient, maintaining high levels of performance under stress. Excellent organization and planning skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
