What We're Searching for:Hood Container Corporation is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to support our Tampa facility. We're looking for someone that has a passion for maintaining the safety and health of our employees and our community's environment. In this role, you'll be responsible for engaging and inspiring employees to comply with safety regulations. How You Will Contribute:

  • Ensure all environmental, health, and safety regulations are met for equipment, machinery, and facility to mitigate risk across the facility.
  • Develop and implement local, state, and federal compliant EHS initiatives.
  • Create and maintain all EHS records including OSHA log and environmental reporting to comply with all legal requirements.
  • Maintain industrial hygiene goals/objectives for all departments including providing advice and interpretation of EHS policies to employees.
  • Lead any investigations of accidents or injuries to find the reason for the incident.
  • Achieve housekeeping goals/objectives for all departments.
  • Conduct periodic internal safety audits and regulatory inspections of facility to ensure compliance with insurance carriers and local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Assist with the creation of processes and procedures for all safety requirements.
  • Provide guidance and train employees on EHS practices and regulations. What it Takes:
    • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field.
    • 2+ years of industry experience in a safety supervisory role or in a safety program.
    • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA, ANSI, and NFPA.
    • Government or professional training and compliance courses (e.g. OSHA 30-hour training) are preferred.
    • Demonstration of dynamic communication and interpersonal skills, able to work with all types of personalities.
    • Adaptability is key as you will need to navigate and demonstrate flexibility in an environment that can be ambiguous and uncertain.
