packaging machinery. Established in 1978, Osgood Industries, Inc.
was privately owned for more than 40 years and is well-known in the
packaging industry. At this location, we design and manufacture
packaging machines for food and a broad spectrum of products. In
addition, we build complete line solutions and provide
comprehensive after sales services. The facility includes
engineering, manufacturing, assembly, R&D/testing lab,
management, sales & marketing, administration and service.
Job Description
SUMMARY: This person is responsible for programming PLC and HMI
software and supporting the development of existing and new
automated manufacturing equipment within the facility.
Essential Functions:
- Designs, develops, and modifies all aspects of software for new
and existing machinery.
- Responsible for the commissioning of capital equipment.
- May be responsible for the installation and technical support
of capital equipment.
- Develops PLC and HMI software for capital equipment.
- Provides in-house technical support to customers and service
technicians.
- Understanding of mechanical equipment functionality, Ie:
mechanical and pneumatic actuation
- Works with in-house electrical assembly team to make sure
machines are wired according to specifications.
- Assists in efforts across other teams or departments to assure
success of all projects.
- Participates in cross functional team meetings.
- Participates in meetings with customers during the design
phase, as needed.
- Communicates with 3rd party vendors, when needed, regarding
integration of equipment added to the machines.
- As required, create electrical schematics in AutoCAD Electrical
or E plan.
- Domestic and limited international travel, as needed (less than
10%), which requires a valid passport or the ability to obtain
one.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
- Must have a minimum of 3+ years of experience with automated
machine technology in an industrial machinery or capital equipment
manufacturing environment
- Must have at least 3+ years of experience programming Rockwell
Automation PLC and HMI controllers for various Allen Bradley servo
drives/VFD
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred
- Proficiency in Electrical Design/Drafting Tools AutoCAD
Electrical
- Bosch/Rexroth knowledge, a plus
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written,
including ability to communicate effectively to the intended
audience.
- Excellent MS Office skills, specifically Word and Excel
- Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely
