This position offers an opportunity to support K-12 students in a special education setting within a dynamic school environment located in Ferndale, WA. The role focuses on delivering specialized instruction to students in various classrooms, including Self-Contained, Resource, and Special Day classrooms, across grades K-12. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs. Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to promote academic and social success. Manage classroom environments that foster positive behavior and engagement. Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state and federal regulations. Qualifications: Active State Teaching License with certification in Special Education. Experience teaching students in grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12 is valued. Strong understanding of special education laws and instructional methodologies. Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Commitment to creating inclusive learning experiences. Position Details: Contract length: As soon as possible through the end of the current school year. Work schedule: 5 days per week, 30 to 37.5 hours weekly. Compensation: $37-41/hour, dependent on experience. Age group served: Kindergarten through 12th grade.
